Traveling Well?????

Traveling Well to Florida

When you travel, are you comfortable and relaxed or are you stressed out of your mind?
The Sawyer family makes several trips a year and we pride ourselves in keeping it stress-free and comfortable. We would like to share our way of travel.
Our preference is to travel by land, in our van. Unfortunately, we find, airtravel to be slow and unreliable. (This article will be more informative to people that decide to travel by land.)
One of the first things you need to achieve is a plan. Preparation is key to pleasant travel. Preparing a list is huge. Involve all who are traveling, children and adults. You want to think start to finish.
When you walk out the door, what is going to happen at home while you are gone? If you have USPS deliver your mail, you will want to have your mail stopped (ask for the form at the USPS office) or have a friend or family member pick it up from your mail box. We use the stop mail feature until we are back home. What about your heat/cooling and water heater? Turn off or lower the heat or raise the temperature on the air conditioner. We also like to turn off the water. There's nothing worse than having a pipe break while you are on vacation or business trip and flood the house or basement.
These ideas will give you less to worry about at home while traveling.
Now you need to think about what you are going to bring along with you.
In thinking about your travel list, consider being "watered and well fed." Food items that are healthy choices like fruit, cut up vegetables, cheese and crackers, and also have plenty of water. Energy drinks like Mochatonix and Awake and an energy booster likeIntense FX are great to have along. Also, having a cooler with ice makes keeping things the right temperature easier.
Also consider keeping yourself occupied on the journey. Educational audios, great music, and entertainment for your children are a must. Another consideration is a GPS.  This is a must if traveling a long distance. We find it easier to travel long distances with 2 (or more drivers). Having a GPS let's a backup driver sleep. In the middle of the night, you may only drive an hour at a time and then switch drivers until you get through the night.
Regular stops are a must. This enables you to stretch, take a bathroom break, and get water and food. Keep them short to stay fresh and to keep moving.
Traveling for business with a vehicle is “Uncle Sam” friendly. Mileage can be reimbursed at .50 + cents a mile. We have traveled on business trip that covered most of the expenses. (Remember you must document.)
The Sawyer family recommends that you keep a positive attitude, think ahead before you travel, and fun with it!

Dream more,
